Almyra Hotel is a cutting edge, 5* hotel located on the seafront in Paphos. It is offers contemporary luxury for the family, activities for the children and sporting facilities suitable for athletes of all abilities.

The bespoke triathlon training weeks are designed to enable you to balance your training and leave time to enjoy your holiday with a partner or family. Each session is planned well in advance; you will be contacted by the coaching team before you depart so that your individual program can be structured according to your needs and ensure you achieve your goals.

Speaking about the programme McFarlane said “The camps will be bespoke and based on the individual skills and performance levels of the participants, this personalised service is key to successful triathlon training."

Swimming clinics will be supervised by Kypros with the aim to develop your current skills and improve your swimming efficiency.

The hotel also welcomes your club, own groups or you as an individual at other times, allowing you to train at your own time whilst still using the hotel's facilities. You may want your own club or group coach there for this type of camp.

Almyra Hotel offers 189 rooms and suites with garden or sea views which can be altered to cater for individual family layouts, using many of them offering interconnecting options. There are 4 restaurants covering a wide range of dining experiences.

Wi-Fi is found through the hotel which is conveniently located close to the restaurants and attractions of Paphos including the House of Dionysos UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There is direct access on to the hotel's private beach area and water sports are on hand. This area also has 4 golf courses within a 22km radius of the Almyra.

Training Facilities


Paphos was one of the final training bases for many International teams before the 2004 Athens Olympic Games so has several quality training venues in addition to those offered at the Almyra Hotel.



Swim technique and video sessions are conducted in either the outdoor or indoor pools or in the 22 metre pool in the Annabelle Hotel's (sister hotel to the Almyra and next door to it) pool. 

Regular elevation swim clinics are run by Kypros Nicolaou and are aimed at intermediate standard swimmers. These clinics will include video analysis and Open Water Swim sessions.

Open Water swim sessions are held in the Mediterranean, the hotel having direct access to the bay in front of the hotel. For deeper water, swim sessions are held a few metres along the beach in front of the Annabelle Hotel.

Additional swim sessions can be organised at Geroskipou Sports Centre with its Olympic size swimming pool and 400 metre, 8 lane athletics track. See details ....



Cyprus is ideal for MTB and Road cycling

'I started coming to Cyprus years ago. Cyprus is perfect in this time of the season. In the immediate area there is the Akamas Peninsula National Park and the Troodos Forest including Mt Olympus.

The normal running routes would be on coastal paths, coastal trails or along the beachfront.

Gym & Spa


Overlooking the Mediterranean, the gym has running treadmills and cross-trainers for your CV training as well as equipment for core, pilates, stretching and postural correction exercises.

The medical team include a sports physiotherapist.

The Spa; has an indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool, yoga deck, saunas, steam rooms, Vichy showers, gym, hair salon, tennis court and Eauzone restaurant. Seven treatment rooms and two spa suites offer therapies using products from Osea, QMS and Ila


  • Kypros has an MA in Exercise Physiology, a BSc in Sports and Fitness Management, is an accredited Strength & Conditioning coach and holds a level 2 ITU coaching qualification and an American College of Sports Medicine, Health and Fitness Instructor Certification.
  • Sean is an elite level long distance triathlete, long distance adventurer, Merrell ambassador and sports journalist. He has successfully competed in triathlon and endurance events and was runner up in both the inaugural Celtman and City to Summit extreme triathlons. 
  • Simon, founder of Paradise Triathlon Training, began coaching in 1999, gaining a BTEC in Sports Science before qualifying as British Triathlon Federation Level 1 & 2 coach. He now holds the Level 3 High Performance Triathlon Coaching, ASA Level 2, Open Water Swim Coach and several other coaching qualifications. Since 2012 Simon has been a Certified Training Peaks Coach.



    Chris, a former elite triathlete, moved into coaching to head up the elite triathlon team at University of Bath before moving to Triathlon Scotland in 2008, where he provided individualised coaching to elite development-level triathletes. Chris has coached several Scots to medal winning positions at youth, junior, U23 and senior level.
