All of Embrace Sports’ accommodation is located close to your training venues. The training bases have been chosen because of their outstanding training environment and scenery, variety of terrain to balance your training and to give you a great training week’s experience.
Portugal (Lagos):
The accommodation is near to all the training facilities. It is a 10 minute walk to the city’s main café, bar and restaurant area and a 15 minute walk to the beach and seafront cafés.
The rooms are split between the Main complex, Guest rooms and Apartments. The apartments are fully equipped with kitchens, a bathroom, washing machine, satellite TV and balcony areas. The Main complex offers spacious, private accommodation. There is an outdoor dining area and BBQ. For drinks there is a commercial coffee machine, fruit juicer, smoothie blender and draft beer on tap.
Facilities include a 17m training pool, an exercise stretching room, an ice bath pool to aid recovery, as well as a secure storage and service area for your bicycle.
France (Pyrenees):
The French style farmhouse is located overlooking the Pyrenees and only a 5 minute drive to the centre of Lannemezan.
The accommodation is split between the Chalet and Guest Rooms. Other amenities include Spa pool, commercial coffee machine, TV room, WiFi, 10m swimming pool, BBQ and lounge area.
There is also a large bike storage & workshop.
France (Alps):
The Chateau and Guest rooms are close to Pont de Beauvosin which is between Chambery and Grenoble.
The Chateau is a three story building with views over the surrounding gardens and grounds. There are large entertaining areas, modern kitchen, BBQ and areas for social gatherings or your own quiet space.
There is also a bike storage and workshop.
RUNNING - The Algarve is where Embrace host the majority of their general and marathon training holidays. The area is ideal for a mixture of terrain and sessions to provide a great boost to your training and ability. With the breathtaking coastal tracks, woodland trail runs, athletics track, boardwalks, gorgeous flat beaches and challenging hills you will get all the knowledge and experience you need whilst having a great holiday with fellow runners or triathletes. CYCLING – For quality training the Algarve has to be right up there in terms of destinations. There is no ‘easy way’ in the Algarve! Blessed with great quality roads, you will be challenged with undulations, hills, time-trial sections and stunning scenery. The Monchique Mountains and surrounding coastal routes have been home to the Famous Tour of the Algarve for many years. SWIMMING – The pictures tell all the stories you need! The coastal sea swimming in the Algarve with their big rock formations provide for some of the best sea swimming experiences you will ever have. Starting with short distances Embrace introduce even the most inexperienced swimmers to open water swimming and make sure everyone is supported and suitably challenged. With additional lake and indoor swimming facilities all options are covered.
RUNNING – For triathlon trips they use stunning lake runs for endurance sessions, short loops for brick runs and flat trails for tempo sessions. The running trip here focuses on hills in preparation for the famous Alpe D’Huez mountain run at the end of the week. As a new addition to the Embrace calendar in 2017 this is proving to be a tough yet extremely rewarding experience! CYCLING - Based in the French Alps, this trip offers the opportunity to ride many of the great Tour de France routes/climbs, including the famous Alpe d'Huez, Col de la Grand Columbier, Le Mont du Chat, Le Mont Revard and Col de Aravis. Wherever you go, you can be sure of stunning scenery and fabulous views to reward you after a hard climb. SWIMMING – As with the Pyrenees, in addition to the local swimming pools, Embrace use open water swimming options at stunning local lakes as much as possible. Clean, clear and shallow lakes are great for all ability levels.
CYCLING - Based in the French Alps, this camp offers the opportunity to ride many of the great Tour de France routes/climbs, including the famous Alpe d'Huez, Columbier, Mont Revard and Col de Aravis. Wherever you go, you can be sure of stunning scenery and fabulous views to reward you after a hard climb. RUNNING - All routes are clearly marked and selected/altered by Embrace to reflect your personal fitness levels, using their personal experience of many years' training and coaching. SWIMMING - Open water swimming is a joy in clean lakes and with stunning scenery.
Graeme is a UK Athletics Qualified Coach and a British Triathlon Qualified Coach. He has competed three times at the ITU World Championships for New Zealand, has been AG IRONMAN UK champion, competed at Kona twice and raced a total of 12 IRONMAN competitions. In 2017, Graeme became won the IRONMAN 70.3 35-40 Age Group at the New Zealand Long Course National Championships.
Neil is a UK Athletics and British Triathlon Qualified Coach. As an athlete, Neil is a Championship Marathon Runner and finished on the podium at the ETU Duathlon Championships.
Eric Doehrman Hamish Dan
Eric has competed for 13years including 10 IRONMANS. Eric is also a highly recognised triathlon coach, is a Certified Personal Trainer, Newton Natural Running™ Certified Coach and a USAT Coach.
Andy Ormesher
Andy's knowledge in running and triathlon is well worth your attention at the dinner table. Andy's bike mechanical skills also ensure guests have the right positional set-up and are rolling smooth throughout the week.
Katrina Marshall
Katrina was a part of the winning girls' team (along with Lucie) at Challenge Roth 2013, beating some of the big name clubs around Europe.
Alan Scott
Alan has been involved with coaching, training and competing in running and triathlon for a number of years. Alan has a wealth of valuable knowledge to offer guests, having competed in The Norseman Triathlon, Ironman Austria and Challenge Roth (with a sub 9:30) along with multiple marathons.
Lucie Custance
Lucie comes from a background in championship marathon and cross-country running. Representing Great Britain as an age-group athlete at the EU and world championships she continues to rank among the top female finishers.
Hamish has podiumed representing Australia at the ITU Age Group World Championships. He has also competed alongside Graeme, Alan and Lucie at Kona IRONMAN. Hamish continues racing, whether this is triathlon, open water swimming or trail running.
Dan has competed for Great Britain at both Age Group ITU world championships and Age Group ETU European Championships. Dan is a qualified Triathlon England & British Cycling coach.
