Training Facilities

The course runs almost at right angles to the coast which can make it liable to winds.

Montemor was built to be multi-purpose and the owners are keen to see more rowers. However, the course is primarily a canoeing centre so the lanes are buoyed accordingly. Smaller boats are OK but there are larger buoys at 1,000 metres.

The centre boasts an international 2,000 metre multi lane still water course with a return lane wide enough for 3 singles abreast, but see above for our comments on buoys.

The River Mondego offers 15 km but this not advisable as it is also susceptible to winds. There is a rowing club in Figueira for boating.

Other facilities offered; some boat rentals are available, launch hire, secure storage.

GYM: Stocked with weight machines, ergos and other cardio equipment. The gym is suitable for up to 30 athletes.
