The Adventure Learning Charity have three sites available for training camps. Longridge; just outside Marlow in Bucks, Green Park; Ashton Clinton in Bucks and Shortenhills, Chalfont St Chiles in Bucks. All these locations are close to M25 via the M4 and M40, are 15-minutes from Heathrow and have direct rail links to London stations.

An introduction to The Adventure Learning Charity at Longridge ....


The Adventure Learning Charity provides aim to develop and improve education and training opportunities for young people. The major part of their set up is the ALF Villages with their many sports and support facilities.

These facilities are being made available to clubs or groups of sports people who are looking to hold training camps with their coaches at alternative venues. If you’re looking to add competition to your camp, there are numerous home clubs near-by.

Individuals or groups are also welcomed to enrol on one of the many sports courses. Tasters days are available for some of the activities.

Buckinghamshire is a great area for alternative things to do away from the training.

Accommodation at the ALF sites can cost as little as £15 per/person

Green Park

The centre can sleep 88 split into 4 residential blocks which comprise of single and double rooms with shared shower and toilet facilities. Each room has a wash sink.

Green Park has two kitchens which supply pre-ordered meals. Self-catering options are also available.


On site can sleep 83 split into 2 areas. The Softcat Rooms sleep 55, split into 9 rooms each with their own en-suite toilet and wash basin. The Fullbrook sleeps 32 with one male and one female toilet. Showers and changing rooms are adjacent to the accommodation.

Self-catering facilities are available if required. There is the “Ridge” Café that supply hot food and drinks but indoor seating is limited. Self-catering options are available.

Buckinghamshire offers a good choice of hotels and smaller accommodations; a range of well stocked, near-by supermarkets and a wealth of restaurants over a wide price range.

Green Park has both indoor and outdoor archery, all that conform to NGB standards for the age range and equipment used. Indoor range is 10 metres and outdoors between 10 metres and 30 metres plus.

Multi Purpose Sports Hall
24 metre x 14.8 metre with wooden flooring suitable for Badminton, Basketball, Fencing, Volleyball etc.

Bike Hire; Off Road bikes can be hired on the cross country courses.

River and lake facility.  River stretch is second longest straight stretch on Thames from Marlow to Cookham.  Lake is 1.5k circumference. Both have jetty for safe access and we have available a range of training boats from singles to 8s as well as coaching craft.  Courses and instructors available.

River and lake facility.  River is ideal for beginners, whilst lake for more experienced sailors.  Have a range of 1 and 2 person sailing craft available for hire.  Courses and instructors available.

River and lake facility.  Range of kayaks and canoes for all disciplines.  We are within easy reach of both Marlow and Hurley Weirs.  Coaching courses and instructors available up to 3-star

Full athletic facility up to UKA standards, with track, hammer, javelin, hurdles, steeplechase, long and high jump.  Full changing rooms, physio area and club room.  

Using athletics centre and adjacent lakes where there is also an off road bike track.

Room only, although subject to availability can source equipment and coaching staff
Gym has ergos, weights and mats.

Longridge On the Thames has 12-acres of grounds adjacent to the River Thames.  A short run away at Longridge On The Lakes there are 3 training lake and athletics centre

There are both indoor and outdoor land training facilities which include ergos, weights and mats.


The areas surrounding the sites have good local medical facilities and excellent physiotherapists.



Coaches can be provided for all of our disciplines from beginner to senior coaching level. Throughout the year we run a series of coaching courses, dates of which are on our website.  However for groups of 4 or more we can create a bespoke course.

Camp Dates

Both Green Hills and Longridge are open 365 days a year, 7 days a week.
