How much can you improve your swim in a long weekend?

220Triathlon magazine's Helen Webster spent a long weekend training with Martin Hill of Triathlon Training Spain at their Alicante base to find out.

In 2016 Helen Webster of 220Triathlon, is targeting to increase her swim distance from 2,000metres to 5,000metres. To help improve her swimming technique, Helen visited BTF Level 3 Triathlon and Swim Smooth-certified coach Martin Hill for a long weekend swimming training camp.

Martin captures Helen's first swim session with underwater video which helps build the training weekend's goals. Morning swim sessions were in the sea, covering specific drills to to help swimming in groups and swimming into the shore. The afternoon sessions were in the 25metre pool, again looking at targeted technical drills designed to improve Helen's efficiency.

All Triathlon Training Spain camps are based in the fantastic 4-Star Bonalba Hotel. The surrounding terrain lends itself ideally for cycling and running, whilst the hotel offers leisure facilities for your downtime or for the use of non-training partners.
