Summary Magnus Bäckstedt won in 2004 the Paris Roubaix, which is probably his biggest victory. Apart from that he also won a Tour de France stage in 1998. He retired from professional cycling in February 2009 but has comeback to professional cycling and has run his own team for 4 years. Bäckstedt is married to a British former international, Megan Hughes. They live in Wales,[10] moving there from Zulte, Belgium. They have two daughters. Bäckstedt said: "We used to come back here [to Wales] every time I had a break. I prefer it to Belgium. You can ride 30 miles between villages here, whereas in Belgium you were stopping for traffic lights." Bäckstedt runs a coffee business with franchises in the United States and Sweden.
