Summary

Introduction

Tri-Sports is run by a husband and wife team, Daren and Deborah Elliott.

Daren completed 4 Ironman races (2012/13) as well as 9 Ironman 70.3 and has qualified for 2 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. He is a BTF Triathlon Open Water Swim Coach.

Deborah, having work professionally within the catering industry for most of her career, is in charge of the all the logistics and catering requirements. Deborah also trains as much as she can – recently improving her swims to 3x 2k training swims a week, sea swims when she can and biking and running a few times a week.

Tri-Sport welcome athletes from beginners up to pro-athletes…individuals, groups, clubs or families. They look after all your training needs whether you follow your own training programme or enrol on to one of their structured coached weeks.

During the Basic Training Weeks athletes can either follow either your own training programme, or one set by your host, Daren. He will take into account the phase of the year you are working in.

There is the opportunity to train along side the Tri-Sports Lanzarote team who would accompany you on various sessions and keep you on track with your training plan throughout your stay.  This gives you the freedom to explore at your leisure and then fit in the recommended sessions in your own time.

The training week covers a range of subjects from transition technique, strength training, bike efficiency, open water technique, nutrition to name but a few.

Comments:  A group of 10 of us stayed with Debs & Daz for a week of triathlon training in April, we all had a great time and the hospitality from our hosts was second-to-none! We had everything on our doorstep, from the villa's 25m pool, to the hills (and wind!) for cycling and tracks & trails for running (oh, and the hot tub for relaxing post-training!), it was superb! If you want a great base for your triathlon training camp TriSports Lanzarote is the place to go!

Comments:  My 3rd Trip in here in as many Early seasons. As an exception to the norm (I'm a racing cyclist, not a triathlete!), I have always loved everything about it. More than enough food pre-ride, post-ride lunch snacks and a great variety of appetising and healthy refuelling dinners. The variety of routes for cycling are more than enough, I never get bored of the roads on my 10day stays and always get 30-40 hours in the saddle with virtually no bad weather to ever be concerned about, unlike many of my friends who venture to Mallorca annually ( only put the arm warmers on once this trip ). brought my friend this year, he's already said he'll come back with his wife next year

Comments:  I've been here at least 6 times and have always been treated like royalty. It's a home from home and is the perfect training location for any triathlete, particularly clubs looking for a training camp base in a homely environment. The views from the pool are second to none.

Comments:  An amazing couple of weeks with lovely athletes. You can start the day with a great swim session in their 25m pool. A big breakfast to set you up for your bike ride (loads of great routes). Back for lunch, loads of trial runs then finish the day with time in the hot tub before a delicious dinner!! Did I mention the well equipped gym? At least once a week the local sports therapist comes to message tired legs in the specialist massage room. For those who need to work in between training, the wifi is excellent. For those who don't - the relaxation is also superb. To be honest - can't think of a better place to train!!

Comments:  As a professional athlete I take my training very seriously and it must work as its won me medals all Over the world. The facilities at Tri Sports are amazing, relaxing and for sure one of the best I've ever sampled. It's very important if your training hard that you take the time to relax and recover in between sessions, at Tri sports along with the great food this is the best bits

Comments:  Firstly Lanzarote is the perfect place to train - especially in the winter months when the weather is terrible at home, and places like Mallorca are too cold and wet. Secondly Debs and Daz have put together the perfect set up to have the best possible week. A 25m pool in the garden, a 10 min drive from open water swimming on the IM Lanza course, a beautiful, peaceful luxury villa with comfortable rooms, a great living area with satellite TV, free wifi and 3 delicious meals each day. The workshop/bike storage is great as well. I eat a lot, trained hard and was never hungry. On top of that they're great hosts, triathlon geeks in a good way and a laugh to be around. Whilst I think La Santa is a good place for a training camp, Trisports Lanza beats it hands down for all of these great, personal touches that you can't get in a mass resort. I will definitely be back.

Comments:  I had a great Big Bike Week at Trisports! Daz and Debs are absolutely great hostst: enthusiastic, spontaneous and caring. The villa is a very relaxing place to be and being allowed to use all the facilities, including the well-filled fridge at all times, really makes you feel at home. Three times daily a tasteful and healthy meal is prepared. Coach Dan Halksworth was helpful, cheerful and strong and the daily bike rides were challenging and beautiful. The extras were 2 ocean swims, 2 BBQs and a good night going out in Puerto del Carmen. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who loves to sport and socialize, and I will definitely come back here!

Comments:  Had a brilliant week at Trisports Lanza for Dan Hawksworths Big Bike training camp. The hosts Debs and Daz have everything catered for: plush spacious villa, fantastic meals/snacks, 25m pool, fully equipped workshop and of course great hospitality. They really go out of the way to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. We had a great mix of characters to train with and having an entertaining and helpful 2 x Ironman champion is always a bonus. Would definitely recommend it as a refreshing alternative to the usual La Santa trips I've previously done and will be sure to visit again.

Comments:  We're lucky enough to live on Lanzarote and have TriSports Lanzarote as our mentors and coaches. As complete novices our skills are improving steadily under the guidance of Daren. The facilities at the villa are second to none and we've benefitted from some great sessions in the villa pool and some great running on the doorstep. Deborah is an excellent cook, super free range eggs and organic home grown produce. TriSports Lanzarote has something for everyone from raw novice to the tru pro. Just wish I had enough time off work to do the big bike week.

Comments:  It was my first training camp with me being at zero level at triathlon (little biking, little swimming and running half-marathons). Thanks to Dez and coaches on camp I got confident in cycling and did 90 km bike of Ocean Lava Course. Highly recommended! Friendly hosts and good coaches
