Introduction

 

The Sam Murphy Running Retreats are coached by Sam Murphy and Jeff Pyrah who are both qualified UK Athletics coaches. 

Sam is a runner, coach and writer, having authored Run for Life, Marathon and Half Marathon: From Start to Finish, Running Well, The Official British Army Fitness Guide and Triathlon Start to Finish. Sam also regularly writes for Runner's World and The Guardian newspaper.

Sam founded the Rye Runners Group in 2010 and has since added the Tenternden Runners Group. Sam and Jeff are assisted by other similarly qualified coaches. 

The Retreats and Runners Groups are open to everyone, no matter running ability or experience. 

Location and accommodation may vary for each Retreat but details will be available ....

Sam also offers a range of Coaching Services including 1:1 Bespoke Coaching, Custom Training Plans, Running Form Assessment, Personal Running Training Advice.


Coaching

  • Jeff is co-founder of Rye Runners and is a Level 2 British Athletics Endurance Coach. He will help you on all aspects of your running, both mental and physical, to ensure you improve and perform during the races of your choice.  
  • So far Sam has completed 16 marathons (best time 3 hours 22 minutes), the Himalayan 100 Mile Race and numerous other events, including a dozen triathlons. She remains a competitive runner and enjoys regular runs with the Rye Runners group
