Combine training with your family holiday in Paphos, Cyprus

Cyprus is an Island much used by sports people throughout Europe offering a good climate, sports friendly local inhabitants, modern Olympic Standard facilities and great accommodation.

 

 

Paphos on Cyprus’ south west coast, enjoys a subtropical-Mediterranean climate, with the mildest temperatures on the island which makes this an ideal location throughout the year.

 


The accommodation throughout Paphos is family friendly, making this an ideal location for a family holiday as well as a chance to top up your training.

Paphos airport (PFO), which is about 16km from the city centre, is well serviced by low cost airlines and transfer costs are inexpensive. EasyJet fly to Paphos from Bristol, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester whilst RyanAir flies from Stansted. At the time of writing, flights were averaging around £210 return but will depend on route and time of year.

Paphos has been selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2017

It is twinned with Florence, Italy

UNESCO added the entire town to its World Cultural Heritage List.

The Paphos area has over 12 Blue Flag approved beaches, possibly the most popular being Coral Bay.

Next to the harbour is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kato Paphos Archaeological Park which dates back to prehistoric times and contains impressive Roman architecture. Other sites include The House of Dionysus, Ayios Neophytos Monastery and the Church of Agia Kyriaki.

 

 

You can stroll along the coastline taking in many other archaeological ruins or just watch one of Cyprus’ breath-taking sunsets.

Paphos also has the Paphos Zoo with its fine range of assorted animals and birds or you could venture north to see the loggerhead turtles Akamas Paninsula National Park or experience the healing waters in the traditional village of Kalopanayiotis.

For those who want to pump up their heart rate there is the Paphos Karting Centre as well as the Super Aphrodite Water Park and Luna Parks.
