Lizzy Hawker is well known and the five-time winner of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB), the demanding 168km endurance foot race around the Mont Blanc Massive. She also won gold in the 100km event at the 2006 World Championships; Korea and, in 2011 running the greatest distance in 24 hours on the road, 247.07km.
For some years now, Lizzy has channelled all she has learnt from thousands of hours of running on the trails in all conditions, while training or racing, into enjoyable but challenging running training camps in the Alps.
The camps are of benefit to all moderately experienced trail runners, to improve their running technique, strength and endurance, and to have racing and training questions addressed from an experienced elite athlete.
Currently camps are centred around the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa region of Switzerland / Italy, as this is where Lizzy has founded a new race event on her former UTMB training ground.
The training camps aim to complete a long distance tour around Monte Rosa and Monte Cervino/Matterhorn. The 4 and 5-day tours provide a range of terrain, trail types, and weather conditions. Needless to say the views are stunning in this beautiful region. Overnights are spent in the excellent, comfortable mountain huts of the region.
Alternatively, you can arrange your own Bespoke running training camp with Lizzy; contact her direct for details.
