Andy J Lewis joined the Parachute Regiment in 1999 but just before starting his British Army P Company training, at the age of 16, Andy suffered a life changing motorcycle accident which resulted in a through the knee amputation in his right leg

Andy had often competed for Gloucestershire at a cross-country runner. But as he settled down after his accident, he soon realised he wanted to push through more barriers & expand his athleticism to multi events. Triathlon was an ideal fit and having been assessed, was chosen to join the Great Britain World Class Performance Program which allowed him to compete for Great Britain all over the world.

I have been awarded the Sports Person of the Year in the Pride of the Forest awards and disabled sports performer of the year in the Bristol Sports Awards.

Triathlon Training Camps: Andy will deliver physiological and technical training. He will also share with you his experiences and give you tools to strengthen your mental attitude and self-believe, whether in training, racing or your life style outside sport.

Educational Visits: As part of the British Triathlon Squad Andy will share his experiences to help young people raise their aspirations and guide them along the pathway to achieving these goals.

Bespoke Mentoring: The aim of the initiative is to help people of all ages, to understand the positive and negative effects of their current lifestyles on their emotional health and wellbeing.

Motivational Talks: Andy was talent spotted in 2013 and by 2016, at Rio 2016 he became the first ever gold medal winner in Paratriathlon at a Paralympic Games. But Andy’s life was tilted upside down following his accident. Through sharing his experiences, Andy can help us overcome the odds against us to become the best we can be.
