Summary

Nick Kinsey has over 24 years’ experience in Triathlon which makes him one of the sports pioneers within the UK.

He competed in his first triathlon in 1984 and has since completed over 20 Ironman events under 9 hours and finishes 3 Hawaii Ironman Championships.

Nick has also run the London Marathon.

He has represented GB and has a BSc (Econ)

Coaching

Nick’s training ethos is to provide the perfect environment, to achieve the correct training stress, followed by the best recovery, to maximise your body’s adaptation to the training load. Your workouts are structured using heart rate monitored training to maximise performance. Concentrating on smaller groups, you are offered more opportunities for 1-2-1 coaching and personal attention.

Professional Triathlon Coach Paul has been coaching triathletes for over six years. During that time he has coached athletes to international success.

“Triathlon is a passion, a lifestyle but every individual is different. What works for one athlete really won’t work for another. Triathlon Coaching is a relationship – it has to go two ways, there has to be communication, the athlete has to feedback. I commit myself 100% to my athletes… but I expect that back too.”

Paul has coached and trained athletes who have qualified for the Hawaii Ironman, qualified for the 70.3 World Championships, won World Age Group Medals and won European Age Group Medals. Lets not forget to mention the countless Personal achievements by individuals who have got the best out of themselves.

As a triathlete Paul has competed in Triathlon for many years locally and still competes today, although mainly to keep fit. Highlights in Triathlon competition have been competing for Great Britain at World and European Age Group Level on several occassions. Prior to taking up Triathlon Paul competed nationally in swimming with swimming personal bests of 56.26 for 100m Freestyle, 1:58.91 for 200m Freestyle and 4:03 for 400m Freestyle.

He is a British Triathlon Level 3 Coach. Using a individualised method of programming as lead triathlon coach of F4L Triathlon Coaching, Paul will personally oversee each triathlon training program, which in turn will be based around key events and peaks to ensure optimum performance for the athlete at the right time.

Currently based in the North East of England where the weather is usually dull and wet but emmigrating to Perth, Western Australia in July 2013 where it is not!

I’ve just gone for a swim after another 1-2-1 swim coaching session from Karl and I’m delighted to report that I feel like a completely different swimmer! My swim felt effortless and smooth; the opposite from how it used to feel before I received Karl’s coaching. Karl clearly explained to me the areas in which I needed to improve and gave me exercises and drills to work on. By putting into practice what Karl told me I am seeing a huge difference in my swimming. I recommend Karl to anyone looking to improve their swimming, particularly for triathlons. Will be booking another session to have in a few weeks time.

360 Training Camps

I have been on many training camps run by Steve Lloyd and have loved each any every one. All have provided a great environment for training hard and having fun. Swimming, running, conditioning and stretching routines are all really good, but it is the biking which is just the best and I am always amazed how quickly my bike fitness and handling improves over a week. Equally importantly, I have a great holiday with good company. I don’t need to look anywhere else for a training camp.

I had a great time living full-time triathlete life for a week! The camp was very technique focussed, varied, and adapted to different levels. The hotel is in a great location, with safe storage for bikes and plenty of good food. Definitely a must for any triathlete looking to build technique and fitness before the season!

A great training camp, for me, is a blend of environment, coaching and company. This one works for me, and I am re-booking. There are choices out there, many also good, but when you get that mix just right, well, it works, so you go back. Big year next year and this will help greatly.

These training camps have enhanced my love for triathlon and provided me with amazing skills, training, friendships and experiences which I can walk away from the camps knowing I’ve had an amazing time and looking to when I can go again. Excellent coaching which aims to emphasise having fun while completing the training is perfect for these training camps. Some of my best memories from the sport are from these camps, I cannot recommend them enough.
