In his final year at school he qualified to represent Jersey at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Australia and won Gold in the 400 IM and Silver in the 200 IM.

Dan swam in the Commonwealth Games but the disappointed of finishing 9th inspired him to move over to triathlon.

Dan’s first experience was in short distance races and impressively finished Top10 in his first ETU race and got the Silver medal the World Aquathlon Championships in Budapest.

Inspired by his new coach at Team TBB, Dan moved from short course to Ironman he won his maiden victory at Ironman UK in 2012.

Coaching

Dan was awarded Scholarship to Coventry University and studied Exercise Science

When preparing for an event Dan recommends doing what the coach tells me and get a good nights sleep 2 night out.

His favourite quote is: Cant substitute time out on the roads for anything else

His cycling tip to the cyclists of all levels, get out no matter the conditions.

Dan said he can't do wthout his iPod or water so both are in his transition bag.

What a lovely week we have had with Abby and Chris in the Bordeaux region! This is a great holiday not just for the established runners, but also for those who are curious about running, or occasional runners, or wine lovers, or simply the supporting partners. These holidays tick all the boxes...

The attention to every detail, the excellent pastoral care for all kids, the ability to educate and entertain kids of ages 9 to late teens, the inspiration of meeting true sporting legends. These are the reasons why my kids could not wait to go! As a parent the fact I know my kids are in very safe hands and will be extremely well cared for whilst being tested physically and mentally are why I am happy to pay for them to go. It’s also great value for money when you consider 5 days and 5 nights of full board on top of the training and World superstar visits!
